Our story began when professional footballer Antti Niemi, together with nutritionist Patrik Borg and the Finnish national football team's chef Reijo Junkkari were exploring top European football organizations and took note that a beetroot shot, which was taken before each match, formed an integral part of the team’s diet. It's no secret that  beetroots are packed with various essential nutrients and vitamins, but it's the nitrates in them that we are after.

So, beetroot, huh? Sometimes the greatest things truly come in the simplest of forms.

Due to beetroot's naturally high nitrate concentration, it has for long been known for its health benefits and been a part of the diet of especially endurance athletes. However, no Finnish products (or exactly great ones tastewise) have been on the market – until now. We're turning the "yuck" into "yum", one drink at a time.

Given that our company’s roots are deep in top sports and sports-related nutrition, the naturalness and additive-freeness is central to our product development. Our beets come from the Mäkipere farm, Finland, where our experienced farmer, Ilkka Mäkipere, hand-selects the beets used for our drinks. Our team (see more below) consists of seasoned professionals from different fields, ranging from nutrition and cooking to professional sports.
